Central Louisiana Nonprofit and Faith-Based Relief Fund

Purpose

The Nonprofit and Faith-Based Relief Fund will reimburse nonprofit and faith-based organizations for expenses associated with providing hurricane relief and recovery services associated with Hurricanes Laura and Delta within the nine-parish service area of The Rapides Foundation. The Foundation understands nonprofits and faith-based organizations immediately responded to both events by organizing volunteers for cleanup, opening up their facilities for volunteers and shelters, providing meals, fans, water, ice, yard equipment, cleaning supplies and many more resources. It is reasonable to expect that many nonprofit and faith-based organizations have incurred costs associated with providing these relief and recovery services to community members within the Foundation's service area. Note: This fund is not open to individuals; only nonprofit and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply.

Funding Guidelines

Eligible nonprofit and faith-based organizations should submit receipts for hurricane-related expenses incurred from providing relief services to individuals and families between August 28 and November 1, 2020. Applicants will also be required to submit the Summary Sheet and Individual Receipt Form found in the Key Materials section (see links in right column) to provide a brief narrative describing the use of resources, including what it was used for and how many people were served. 

Allowable expenses include, but are not limited to: food; water; tarps; gas; cleaning supplies; personal items; clothing; equipment; and facility sheltering costs such as utilities. Organizations may only apply once and awards will have a $500 minimum and $5,000 maximum. 

Application Submission Process

Applications for the Nonprofit and Faith-Based Relief Fund will be accepted using The Rapides Foundation’s online application process only. (See link to online application in right column.) Note: This fund is not available to individuals; only nonprofit and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply; 

Applicants should thoroughly review the key documents included in the Key Materials section in the right column before applying. Assistance from Foundation staff is available at no cost to applicants requesting help with the submission process.

Submit an Application

All applications must be submitted using the online submission process. Note: This fund is open only to nonprofit and faith-based organizations; individuals are not eligible to apply.
Important note: Allowable expenses must have been incurred between August 28 and November 1, 2020. Applications will be accepted until Friday, January 29, 2021.
