Purpose

Please note: The grant proposal submission period is closed. This Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program funding opportunity is to support implementation of evidence-based, community-driven solutions for preventing substance and alcohol abuse. Systems of prevention services work better than isolated efforts, meaning the best prevention results come from partnerships; therefore, The Rapides Foundation encourages communities to work together across agencies, departments, and sectors for planning and implementing interventions and for gaining support from the populations most impacted by them.

Grant Awards

This is a competitive grant application process and available grant funding from The Rapides Foundation is limited. Grants of up to $300,000 over a three-year period are available.

Grant proposals should impact residents within the Foundation’s nine-parish service area of: Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn parishes.

Applicants should thoroughly review the Request for Proposals and other key documents included in the Key Materials section (in right column) to see full details, application process and proposal requirements.

Proposal Submission Process

Please note: The grant proposal submission period is closed. The Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program Grant funding opportunity consists of a two-stage process. The first stage is submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) using The Rapides Foundation’s online application process only. Letters of Intent that are approved by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees will then be invited to submit a Full Proposal of their project. To see full details of the LOI and Full Proposal stages, please refer to the Request for Proposals.

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact The Rapides Foundation for guidance before submitting their proposal. Contact information is located in the right column.
