Program develops emerging leaders
Eight Central Louisiana nonprofit leaders graduated October 2 from Cenla Execbuilders, a leadership development program for nonprofit senior staff. Cenla Execbuilders, a program of Community Development Works, is designed to identify and develop knowledgeable, skilled, committed, and action-oriented leaders who will have maximum impact on the communities and constituents they serve in an environment of change and competing priorities.
The following graduates completed the five-month program designed for nonprofit Executive Directors and potential executives seeking training and professional coaching support:

· John Cotton Dean, Director of Regional Innovation, Central Louisiana Economic Development Alliance
· Rochelle McMahon, Lead Advocate Supervisor, CASA West CenLA, Inc.
· LaTessa Mathews, Program Coordinator, Volunteers of America North Louisiana, Central Louisiana Division
· Francis Reeves, Interim Executive Director, Reading Education for Adult Development (R.E.A.D.)
· Melinda Robinson, GoodTransitions Manager, Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana, Inc.
· Linda K. Shaw, Executive Director, Bread of Life Community Development Corporation of Louisiana
· Karen Riley Simmons, Interim Executive Director, Sankofa Cultural Collective
The graduates now join a group of 30 Cenla Execbuilders alumni who participate in the program's peer leadership network. Cenla Execbuilders is a free program, and is open to new or experienced Executive Directors, or up-and-coming executives in Cenla who want to become more effective in their role as leaders of local nonprofit organizations.
