Movement Workshop scheduled for Saturday, April 13

Movement Workshop scheduled for Saturday, April 13

Free event hosted by Healthy Lifestyle Program and Louisiana Christian University's StepUp program

Central Louisiana residents are invited to a free movement workshop for all ages and all fitness levels, led by staff from The Rapides Foundation’s Healthy Lifestyle Program and Louisiana Christian University's StepUp program.

The movement workshop will take place Saturday, April 13, at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville. This event was originally scheduled in November, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Funded by The Rapides Foundation and administered by CMAP, the Healthy Lifestyle Program provides nutrition and physical activity counseling to Central Louisiana residents. Representatives from LCU's Step Up, CENLA program will also take part in this event in their role as a Healthy Behaviors Initiative grant recipient.

During the workshop, participants will learn how to create a total body movement plan that increases strength, mobility and flexibility in a way that is easily sustainable and adaptable. Participants will leave the workshop knowing how to move well for better health and how to get more out of intentional exercise sessions.

The clinic begins at 9 a.m. at 1140 College Drive, Pineville. Participants will gather at the trailhead of LCU Parrish Fuller Fitness Trail near H.O. West Fieldhouse. Parking will be available in the Louisiana Athletic Club parking lot. Families are welcome!

To reserve a spot, call (318) 767-3019.

The Healthy Lifestyle Program provides one-on-one counseling to residents who are referred by their physicians, and it offers support groups for residents who are at-risk of developing diabetes. Visit cmaprx.org for more information about the Healthy Lifestyle Program.
