Job Opening: Healthy Communities Program Officer/Program Associate

The Rapides Foundation seeks a full-time Healthy Communities Program Officer/Program Associate.

This position is for a key Foundation professional who will be involved in the development, implementation and administration of initiative components that support efforts to achieve the Foundation’s mission to improve the health status of Central Louisiana. The Healthy Communities Program Officer/Program Associate will report to the Director of Programs and work in the areas of economic development, community and nonprofit capacity building and education.

The role is designed for a person with areas of interest and expertise reflecting issues including, but not limited to, birth to postsecondary education, nonprofit development, organizational capacity building, workforce development, economic development and youth engagement.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred) and have at least three years of experience developing, implementing or evaluating evidence-based programs. Knowledge of efforts by Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Economic Development (LED) and the Louisiana Workforce Commission as well as experience with nonprofits, grant management and postsecondary institutions is preferred but not required.

Specific areas of responsibility include cultivation of prospective projects, program implementation and support, grants management, assessment and research, communications and issue development. A complete job description can be downloaded in the Documents to Download section below.

This position will be filled at the Program Officer or Program Associate level depending on years of experience.
