Healthcare Access Program Officer

The Rapides Foundation seeks a full-time Program Officer. The Program Officer position is a key Foundation professional and reports to the Director of Programs. 

The position responsibilities include development, administration and management of initiative components that support efforts to increase access to primary, behavioral and preventive healthcare services within The Rapides Foundation's nine-parish service area. 

Specific areas of responsibility include cultivation of prospective projects, program implementation and support, grant management, issue development, and assessment and research. A complete job description can be downloaded in the Documents to Download section below. 

The position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree preferred, in Health Administration, Social Work, Nursing, Behavioral Health or other related fields. Areas of interest and expertise should include, but not be limited to, best practices in increasing access to primary, behavioral and preventive health services. Qualified candidates will have at least five years experience developing, managing, implementing or evaluating evidence-based programs to improve quality and/or increase access to healthcare services in various settings. Knowledge and expertise in the management and operations of community health clinics, care pathways, Federally Qualified Health Centers, integrated behavioral health, team-based care, clinical practice development, disease management, medical manpower issues, and community-level interventions are preferred. Grant management experience is preferred but not required.
