Join The Rapides Foundation's Get Healthy Cenla Challenge, a daily challenge designed to encourage people to improve their nutrition and physical activity. Our goal is for everyone to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day, five days a week.
September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month and we want to set up kids for a lifetime of good health by being the healthy role models they need. One way to help kids (and yourself!) create healthy nutrition and exercise practices is to follow the 5-2-1-0 plan. The plan encourages kids to eat 5 or more servings of fruits and veggies, limit recreational TV or computer screen time to 2 hours or less, get at least 1 hour of physical activity and have 0 sugar-sweetened beverages each day.
The Get Healthy Cenla Challenge Calendar offers daily tips and challenges designed to increase physical activity and healthy eating. You can use the challenges on the calendar to help carry out the 5-2-1-0 plan. Click here to download the September 2019 Challenge Calendar.

The challenges on our calendar are prepared by trained staff in our CMAP Healthy Lifestyle Program. They are designed to be simple and realistic. If you find the challenges too easy, try doubling the amounts. If they are too hard, don't worry. Do what you can, and have fun!
The Get Healthy Cenla Challenge is a component of the Healthy Lifestyle Program. This is a program aimed at fighting obesity in Central Louisiana by providing Cenla residents with resources to lead healthy lifestyles.
