CDW Fall 2018 Trainings Underway
Register now for free workshops, webinars for Cenla nonprofits and residents
Community Development Works, a program of The Rapides Foundation, is offering free, skill-building training for Cenla residents and nonprofits. Workshops and webinars begin in September and include a variety of topics, including finding funding sources, grant writing, evaluating a program and managing workplace stress.
All workshops and webinars are free of charge. Webinars can be accessed from most devices using the GoToWebinar app. Workshops take place at The Rapides Foundation Building, 1101 Fourth St., Alexandria. Pre-registration is needed and may be done by calling CDW or registering online at www.communitydevelopmentworks.org.
The training is geared toward nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers, and people interested in starting a nonprofit. Fall courses are presented within four topic areas: the Start-Up Series for Nonprofits, the Grant Writing Series, the Evaluation Series, and the Staff Development Series. Participants have the option of attending all workshops in a series, or choosing only the workshops or webinars that interest them.
Fall workshops and webinars are as follows:
- Start-Up Series for Nonprofits training courses: To Be or Not To Be a 501(c)(3); Introduction to Finding Funders; Business Planning: Models for Nonprofits; Fundraising 101.
- Grant Writing Series training courses: Basic Grant Writing; Advanced Grant Writing; Getting Ready for the Auditors.
- Evaluation Series training courses: The Process from Evaluation to Logic Models; Researching Evidence-Based Programs; Show Me the Data: Measuring Outcomes.
- Staff Development Series courses: Managing Workplace Stress; Personal Development – The Mindful Workplace; Personal and Professional Influence – Understanding and Developing It In Classic Ways.
