Community Development Works
The Rapides Foundation's Community Development Works program provides an integrated, comprehensive approach to enhance civic and community opportunities for more effective leaders and organizations. CDW's strategies seek to foster increased civic engagement, develop enhanced leadership skills, and improve the effectiveness of community organizations.
CDW offers a variety of onsite workshops and webinars to build the capacity of individuals working within nonprofits. These training offerings are on such topics as grantwriting, fundraising and financial management. The CDW Learning Lab, located on the first floor of The Rapides Foundation Building, is a resource center that provides assistance for researching community problems, analyzing relevant data, and supporting efforts towards collaborative planning to address community issues.
Cenla Boardbuilders is a program for emerging leaders to become active in their communities as members of nonprofit boards. This program consists of intensive training and networking opportunities. A similar program called Cenla Execbuilders provides intensive leadership training, executive coaching and peer networking for emerging executive directors in Central Louisiana nonprofits.
