The Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Mini Grant funding opportunity is open for proposals. Deadline for submission is Thursday, April 2, 2026, no later than 4:00 p.m. Central Time.
This Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Mini Grant funding opportunity seeks to reduce tobacco use and prevent initiation by funding evidence-based prevention and cessation programs. For the purposes of this funding opportunity, tobacco includes: combustible cigarettes, nicotine pouches, nicotine e-cigarettes/vapes, smokeless tobacco and cigars (including cigarillos and little cigars). Proposed projects may serve youth and/or adults and must address identified community needs using evidence-based strategies.
This funding opportunity is focused on prevention and/or cessation, not disease management or medical treatment as the primary emphasis.
The Foundation invites nonprofit organizations, schools, faith-based organizations and government entities to apply with evidence-based, culturally relevant solutions. Collaboration among local organizations, community advocates, faith-based partners, and neighborhoods is strongly encouraged to create sustainable, population-level improvements in health and well-being.

This is a competitive grant application process with a limited number of 12-month (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027) grants of up to $25,000 available from The Rapides Foundation. The Foundation will consider only one application per organization, or agency, and funding must align with project needs. Funds may be used for staff time, travel and training, and program costs. Applicants are not required to secure matching funds and/or in-kind support.
Proposals for the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Mini Grant will be accepted using The Rapides Foundation’s online application process only. (See link to online application in right column.)
