School Readiness Programs Prepare Children for Success

The Rapides Foundation’s Education Initiative recognizes the importance of preparing children for kindergarten. Children who enter kindergarten “ready to learn” are more likely to go through their school careers without repeating a grade, and they have higher graduation rates and increased employment opportunities when they become adults.

The Healthy Lifestyle Program has been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a National Diabetes Prevention Program for its ability to effectively deliver a proven type 2 diabetes prevention lifestyle intervention. CDC only recognizes programs that meet high-quality standards.
