The Cenla Medication Access Program’s cancer screening van will visit Allen Parish in September to help residents get checked for colorectal, breast and cervical cancers. The van will be at CMAP’s Oakdale office, 107 South 12th St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
The Rapides Foundation's Cenla Medication Access Program, which has been providing free prescriptions to eligible Central Louisiana residents since 2001, is now offered statewide.
Wendy Roy, program director of The Rapides Foundation's Cenla Medication Access Program, has won the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation's 2009 Women of Excellence Award in the health and medicine category. Awards were presented at the Women of Excellence Awards Gala on May 6 in Baton Rouge.
The Cenla Medication Access Program (CMAP) has been awarded the Rural Health Program of the Year by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). The award is being presented in New Orleans on May 20, 2005 during the 28th NRHA Annual Conference, the largest national meeting devoted to addressing rural health issues and the educational needs of those who practice, work and live in rural areas.
