Community Development Works (CDW) Staff

Akeshia Singleton, MBA
Ms. Singleton serves the Foundation as a Program Officer. She is responsible for programmatic oversight of the Community Development Works program. She has completed the Hull Fellows Program with the Southeastern Council of Foundations, and has participated in various coalitions and review panels at the state and regional levels. In 2014, she was appointed as a Louisiana representative to the Southwest Regional Health Equity Council, Region VI, for the National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities. She holds an MBA in International Business and Marketing, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Singleton served as Senior Client Services Manager for Nonprofit Knowledge Works where she acted as an intermediary between local community organizations and nonprofit consultants on capacity building to achieve organizational development goals. Ms. Singleton has volunteered with several charities and worked as a Louisiana Poll Worker, serving as a Commissioner in Charge for elections and voting.
Felicia Walker
Felicia Walker is the Learning Lab Technician for Community Development Works. Felicia is responsible for maintenance of the Learning Lab collection which houses a nonprofit and community development reference library with more than 500 holdings, including the Foundation Center Cooperating Collection. She serves as a “ready reference” on a variety of nonprofit and community development topics to CDW callers and Learning Lab customers. Ms. Walker holds an undergraduate degree from Grambling State University in Accounting and has previously worked in the Avoyelles Parish School System and the Rapides Parish Library System.
