A limited number of grants up to $25,000 each will be awarded for projects that encourage and improve physical activity and healthy eating among residents in nine Central Louisiana parishes: Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon and Winn. Summit to assist employers with hiring strategies The Cenla Work Ready Network 2012 Workforce Summit, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 16, is intended to help employers and other community leaders understand the benefits of using the National Career Readiness Certificate to build a work-ready region in Central Louisiana. This free event will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Sai Convention Center in Alexandria and will welcome employers, educators and economic development professionals to collaborate and share the benefits of this nationally recognized certification.
