Get Healthy Cenla! Ready for the May challenge?
Take the veggie and basic training challenges
Join The Rapides Foundation Get Healthy Cenla Challenge, a daily challenge designed to encourage people to improve their nutrition and physical activity. Our goal is for everyone to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and to get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day, five days a week.
Download and print the May 2017 Challenge Calendar to get started today. May's calendar features two areas of focus. The nutrition focus is about increasing your vegetable intake to three servings a day. Each week try a new vegetable or prepare your favorite a newer, healthier way. Check out the green-shaded boxes on the calendar for veggie prep tips, and try them for different meals (including breakfast!) and snacks. In honor of Memorial Day, the May fitness focus supports our nation's Armed Forces by offering a Basic Training Physical Endurance Challenge. The challenges throughout the month address three exercises: pushups; sit-ups; and a 2-mile walk/run. Be sure to mark your progress each Monday on the calendar block.

The challenges on our calendar are prepared by trained staff in our CMAP Healthy Lifestyle Program. They are designed to be simple and realistic. If you find the challenges too easy, try doubling the amounts. If they are too hard, don't worry. Do what you can, and have fun!
